Roberto Delfanti was born in Cremona on 26 March 1964.
He graduated at the International School of Violinmaking in Cremona in 1982.
He studied with master Gio Batta Morassi working for three years al the CEE Workshop in Cremona where he perfected his style and technique of violinmaking.
 

In 1986 he opened his own workshop in the center of town.
In the last two years he has collaborated with the Regional Lombardy Administration in the project for post graduate students of the Violinmaking School of Cremona, providing assistance in courses in his own workshop.
 

His own instruments are inspired by classical models of the old Cremonese violinmakers (such as Stradivari, Guarneridel Gesù, Ornati). He applies a spirit varnish of an orange brown color.
Every instrument is crafted with care in the smallest of details, with carefully chosen wood that has been well seasoned.

He also dedicates himself to the construclion of pochettes and small violins.
He has participated in national competitions such as the Cremona Triennial of 1982-85-88-94, Gorizia, 1984 and Baveno 1987.
His instruments are requested in italy as well as in Japan, Korea and other nations.
