Buchwalder Jurg

Jürg Buchwalder was born in Basel (Switzerland) on January 23rd, 1959.
After completing his diploma at an Arts Institute he moved to Italy in 1979 where he enrolled in the Parma Violin Making School studying until 1984.
He completed his diploma of violin making with top marks. After this he moved to Germany working for a violin maker in Mainz where he perfected his technique in the art of restoration of antique instruments.
He worked in a shop in Zurich. In 1989 he opened his own business. His atelier is situated in Basel where he specializes in restoration and repairs of string instruments. He has made many instruments, particularly violins and violoncellos.
 

Buchwalder Jurg
